My skin and I have a love/hate relationship. Mostly hate.
When I was in seventh grade I developed this horrible raging acne that just would not go away. Ever. No matter how many products I tried. I went to the dermatologist. I bought different cleansers and creams from pharmacies. Nothing seemed to help. I struggled with extremely oily patches of skin while simultaneously dealing with extremely dry patches of skin. From drug store products to high end products, I just could not find anything suitable for my difficult skin.
Fast forward to age 26, and I’m just now FINALLY getting the hang of this skincare thing, after lots of wasted money and lovely scarring on my face that has created a very uneven skin tone. Luckily, a couple of easy solutions have come into my life: a healthier diet and SkinTech.
I’m going to be totally transparent here and trust that you’re going to love me in spite of this, but y’all, I seriously used to eat like a five year old even into adulthood. Actually, my diet was probably an insult to five year olds. You’re talking to someone who drank four to five Cokes per day (gross, I know), had to be forced to drink water, and would not touch a vegetable unless it was in the form of a fried green tomato. I lived off of whatever junk was convenient for a college kid. Chips, candy bars, late night Taco Bell trips. What I was doing was totally wreaking havoc on my body and showing outwardly on my skin.
Something had to change.
I can’t express this enough-you are what you eat. If you takein junk, you’re going to feel like junk and your skin, frankly, is going to look the part.
The biggest initial step I made toward healthier skin was to drastically cut my intake of soda. If you can completely cut out sodas (I’m still in the process) then I beg you to stick with it and keep that poison out of your body!
The next step I had to take was cutting out all the processed food and fast food I was consuming. Talk about nasty. I don’t even want to think about all the grease that I was willingly putting into my body and yet expecting to have nice, clear skin.Drinking plenty of water and maintaining a diet full of lean protein, leafy greens among a multitude of veggies, and fresh fruit will do wonders to help your body feel in prime condition as well as improve your skin. But what do you do when these changes just aren’t quite enough to get you comfortable in your own skin?
Now I’m not the type of person to jump on the bandwagon with new products. I have had a stubborn streak like this since I was a little kid. I remember when CDs came out, I thought that was the dumbest thing I had ever heard of and planned to stick with my cassettes. I just knew CDs would be a passing fad. After all, cassette tapes were all I knew! When texting became a “thing,” I said I would never text when I could just pick up the phone and call someone. Now I would rather text than talk on the phone. When smart phones made their debut and my dad got his first, I made it clear that I would stick with my trusty RAZR flip phone, thank you very much. As you can see, I’ve had a history of being a skeptic. But I’m proud to say that after all these years I’ve finally learned to appreciate a good thing when I see it...and SkinTech is a very, very good thing.
I’m going to take the opportunity to brag on our founder a bit here. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Lori for many years, both personally and professionally. Let me tell you, this gal does not believe in doing anything halfway. As a pharmacist, she was one of the most meticulous professionals I have ever witnessed, completing her tasks with care and precision. With a passion for animals, especially those adorable miniature donkeys, you can bet your bottom dollar that her farm is run like clockwork and her animals have the best of care. Her reputation precedes her.
So needless to say, when I heard that she was developing a skin care line, I KNEW that this was something I had to try. When you purchase SkinTech, you can rest assured that you are purchasing a product that has been constructed with in-depth research, time, testing, and careful consideration for the well being of her clients.
If you are tired of paying for skin care that just doesn’t work, wasting money on product after product, dealing with skin that won’t cooperate, and lacking confidence in your skin’s appearance, then take it from this skeptic-SkinTech is for you. Give it a try, and you will never turn back. Skin care made simple is the best skin care for you!
